Buying fresh dates is great! The prices are very comparable, if not the same or better than conventional dried dates in your area, plus the fresh dates are fresh, organic, high quality, and flavorful! There are lots of varieties of fresh dates to choose from, I like a lot of different varieties of dates =). If you eat a lot of dates on a daily basis, then this is a great place to shop for fresh dates because you can get great quality for a great price!
If you are beginning a raw vegan plant based lifestyle, then having a lot of calories from fruit is essential! So buying fruit in bulk is not only cheaper but you will have enough to sustain yourself! Enjoy =)
PS- A lot of the "firm" halawy and khadrawy dates have the texture of the candy starburst, which just makes them even better!!!
